The mommy files - Transition in progress...

Since Bella has been sleeping in our bed since birth, it has created 2 situations.

-Baby can't sleep without momma
-Momma can't sleep in bed now because Bella is getting to big.

I told Joshua that I either have to begin the heartbreaking transition to her sleeping in her crib or we need to buy a king size bed because I am just not sleeping anymore being sandwiched between them. Guess who won? It just breaks my heart because I love snuggling with my little Bella boo every night and I really DON'T want to do this but I know I need to. Every night when we go to bed she moves and thrashes herself until she is practically underneath me. It is the cutest thing, and she knows when it is not me. She cries until I crawl in bed with her. It sounds crazy but it really is special to be loved so much!!!

So basically I have spent the last couple of days searching ideas on how to help your baby transition from family bed to baby bed. They suggest putting a piece of your clothing (that has your scent on it) into the crib to help ease their anxiety. This was my first try. I came down stairs and listened with the radio and noticed she was being really quiet. So I went and checked on her and this is what I saw. I just wanted to cry because that should be me she is snuggling to!! I know it is for the best and will remain strong. No worries...I moved it from her face but she keeps putting it back so I check on her every few minutes to make sure she is not suffocating herself with my sweatshirt.

Sorry this was such a long story for something that may seem so minor to you but it is a big step for me and Bella...just ask my husband!

Introduction

Just testing out to see how this blogging thing works. It has been suggested to me by a dear friend of mine. Since we "The Murray's" are so far from home, it is a good way for our friends and family to keep up with us. I don't know if I will be doing this on a regular basis, as I do already maintain a myspace account, but it is worth a shot for those that do not subscribe to myspace.
